Since Reach for Change was created nine years ago, we have developed an effective model to identify and activate high potential social entrepreneurs. Over the years, tens of thousands of individuals have applied to our programs and helped build our global pipeline of social entrepreneurs.
In 2018, the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, chose to partner with Reach for Change to promote social entrepreneurship as a method for achieving the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A pan-African competition was launched to find, mobilize and provide exposure to innovative African social entrepreneurs with the potential to make a big contribution towards the achievement of the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Over 1,300 entrepreneurs from all over Africa, from the Gambia to Kenya, Egypt to South Africa and everywhere in between, submitted their contributions.
In 2019, the five winners will be honored by the president and awarded $10,000 USD each to increase their impact and continue their innovative work in the SDG area(s) in which they are focusing.
