Supporter

A supporter contributes to the work of Reach for Change primarily by being an ambassador for our work and our social entrepreneurs. A supporter can also contribute directly to our work by by participating in specific activities with the Reach for Change or its social entrepreneurs (such as for example reviewing entrepreneur pitches), organizing fundraising activities or becoming a monthly donor.

As a Supporter you get:

• The opportunity to learn more about innovative solutions to pressing societal issues and meet inspiring people who are improving children’s lives.
• The chance to win our Supporter of the Year Award.
• Invitations to special events.
• Regular updates on the social impact you are contributing to.

Why did you become a Supporter?

Who doesn’t want to be a better and more generous person? I see this as an opportunity to contribute to a society that I can be proud of and want to be a part of. To me it is really important to engage in the work for a better world for children – in activities that don’t only have an impact right now, but also in the future.  In general, I think it is valuable for co-workers to feel that their competences and their passions are put to use both at work and in society – it keeps you more creative and inspired.

Do you have a favourite among the Change Leaders supported by Reach for Change?

Oh, I couldn’t choose. I think the diversity in itself is what makes the program great! The fact that we are investing and engaging in a wide range of pressing issues for children.

Do you want to become a Supporter?

Expert

Occasionally our social entrepreneurs, who are primarily start-ups, need quick input on a specific challenge that they are facing. This is when we consult you as part of the expert pool to see if we can find a quick solution to the problem.

As an Expert you get:

• The opportunity to learn more about innovative solutions to pressing societal issues and meet inspiring people who are improving children’s lives.
• The chance to win our Expert of the Year Award. Invitation to special events. Visibility in our Annual Social Impact Report.
• Regular updates on the social impact you are contributing to.

Any co-worker who has a specific expertise and competence within an area such as financing, sales, legal, marketing and PR, leadership & organisation as well as HR can become an Expert.

Why did you become an Expert and why did you take on the first challenge presented to you as an Expert?

The social entrepreneur Barnkraft has a really good and moreover important business idea, and I wanted to contribute with what I can to help develop it further.

How would you motivate a colleague with a specific competence to become an Expert?

It is a unique opportunity to help social entrepreneurs, to contribute to a better world, to develop yourself and to create exciting contacts and have exciting meetings.

Barnkraft: for the change that they are committed to creating and the importance of working with especially vulnerable children.

Do you want to become an Expert? 

Advisor

An Advisor acts as a mentor and a bouncing board to one of the social entrepreneurs that Reach for Change has invested in. The advisor is an experienced business man or woman in one of our partner companies with the mandate to take inititatives on behalf of the company. This is the deepest and most rewarding level of engagement. 

As Advisor you get:

• The opportunity to learn more about innovative solutions to pressing societal issues and meet inspiring people who are improving children’s lives.
• Visibility on the Reach for Change website and our Annual Social Impact Report.. Access to a network of engaged, experienced and highly skilled co-workers among our partner companies. 
• Invitation to networking events with other Advisors. Invitation to special events.
• The opportunity to do field visits with a social entrepreneur. Influence in the selection of new entrepreneurs to be supported by Reach for Change. Regular updates on the social impact you are contributing to.

What made you say yes to becoming an advisor?

It is very rewarding and a lot of fun to be able to help and contribute to positive change. Especially working with a person and an idea that actually improves children’s lives. 

How do you think that the Advisor role can contribute to your regular role at Metro?

Working as an Advisor gives a lot of inspiration and new insights, and this is definately something that I take with me in my regular work as well.

Do you have a favourite among the Change Leaders supported by Reach for Change?

All the Change Leaders do an amazing work and run important initiatives for chidren. However, Naim Zeneli, who works with supporting unaccompanied refugee children, is especially close to my heart as I am and Advisor for him.

Problem solver

The Barrier Breaking Session is an intensive problem-solving workshop designed to give Reach for Change's social entrepreneneurs the chance to present their strategic challenges to a small team of leaders among our partner companies. These individuals are Problem Solvers and they contribute with their expertise during this annual event. 

As a Problem Solver you get:

• The opportunity to make a big difference for a social entrepreneur improving lives through a limited one time effort. 
• An opportunity to network and collaborate with other individuals in leading positions among our partner companies.
• Inspiration and mutual learnings by collaborating with leaders of the social sector.

What do you enjoy most with just Barrier Breaking Session?

In addition to getting to know the fascinating work that the Change Leader's are doing, the most inspiring part is to have the opportunity to help them grow through giving advice on their challenges. Sometimes we find the answer directly, sometimes I can use my network within the group to guide them on.

Why is it important that large companies are taking a social responsibility?

Sustainability and social responsibility issues are among the biggest challenges corporations are facing today. I am especially happy that our ambitions in this field go above and beyond legal requirements. It is becoming increasingly important both for employees and consumers that we contribute positively to environmental, economic and social issues, and it is obvious that large companies with big resources have a responsibility lead the way.

I think all of them are amazing within their respective areas and contexts.
