Our program

Children’s needs are not being met, at the same time we see a movement wanting to make a change

Millions of children’s needs are not being met, and our societies are not set up well enough to adequately respond to these challenges. If current trends continue, 60 million children under age 5 will die between 2017 and 2030, according to UNICEF

At the same time, we see that there are individuals and organizations with innovative solutions for how to improve children’s lives.

However these individuals and organizations often lack access to the support needed to realize their solutions and scale their impact.

This is where
Reach for
Change
comes in.

Our approach

Reach for Change helps high potential social entrepreneurs that address pressing issues for children to develop more effective solutions and scale them faster and more sustainably, than they would without our support. We find social entrepreneurs through our search and selection, and then help them to become investment ready to qualify for intensive support in our incubator programs

Search, Support, Select

Search.

Our search process involves casting our net as wide a possible. We employ public competitions and calls for applications, as well as headhunting through sector networks. The resulting candidates are put through an extensive assessment process, where we ask for perspectives from a variety of sectors and stakeholder groups.

Support.

Candidates with the highest potential are invited to join a short accelerator program, through which we deliver a series of support modules to help them to: refine their solutions and impact targets, articulate their business models, and sharpen their investor pitches.

Select.

At the end of these modules, the candidates pitch to a jury of experts, and the most promising ones are invited to join our Incubator program.

Our incubator program:
To develop and scale effective solutions

The goal

The goal for the Social Entrepreneurs in our incubator is to sustainably scale and effectively impact a significant share of the children in their target group, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals. (Read more about the Sustainable Development Goals here)

Our support

The Incubator program is a 1-5 year support program for early stage social entrepreneurs. For the entrepreneurs to scale and develop effective solutions the program entails:

Capacity building
The capacity building support is focused on five key development areas: Effective solution, Financial Sustainability, Leadership & Team, Impact Scaling and System Change. These areas have been identified based on our experience from supporting entrepreneurs since 2010, and are offered through a number of activities such as: Annual strategic planning, coaching and mentorship, Peer-to-peer support and Tri-annual check-ins.

Grant funding
Selected social ventures are offered unrestricted financial support, used for developing and delivering their solution and for strengthening the capacity and capabilities of their team.

Network
We connect our social ventures to our local and international network of experts and funders, with the aim of creating opportunities for new learnings, partnerships, and sources of revenue.
